EMDR Therapy in Vancouver and Online (BC & Ontario)

You’ve done the thinking. You understand why you react the way you do, and you still feel it in your body when something triggers you. EMDR works differently from talk therapy because it doesn’t stay in the logical mind.

What is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain reprocess painful memories that feel stuck. Instead of only talking about the past, we shift the emotional charge of a memory so it stops setting off your nervous system in the present.

PWho can it help?

  • People who feel triggered by things that “shouldn’t” bother them
  • People who understand their patterns but can’t change them
  • Anyone carrying the impact of past trauma, including relational and developmental trauma
  • People who’ve done talk therapy and still feel stuck

What sessions look like

We start by getting to know you, building safety, and making sure you have the tools to stay steady. When it’s the right time, we move into reprocessing at a pace that feels sustainable. I’m active in sessions, not a silent therapist. I’ll check in, name what I notice, and slow things down when needed.

How many sessions?

It varies. Some clients find relief from specific triggers in 8–12 EMDR sessions, while others prefer longer-term work on deeper relational patterns. We’ll decide together.

My approach

I completed EMDR basic training in 2023 and blend it with parts work (IFS) and somatic awareness, so we work with your thoughts, emotions and nervous system together.
